The Minister of Agriculture and the Governor of New Valley discussed enhancing Egyptian-Saudi cooperation in agricultural manufacturing.

The attendees emphasized the strong historical and strategic relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the two brotherly countries, and the political leadership's keenness to strengthen these relations in all fields, especially in vital sectors that serve the interests of both peoples. Special focus was placed on the importance of the New Valley governorate as a strategic reserve for agricultural development in Egypt.

The Minister of Agriculture, for his part, appreciated the significant importance the Egyptian state attaches to Saudi investments in various sectors, particularly the agricultural sector, due to its pivotal role in achieving food security for both countries. He highlighted the efforts and expansions taking place in the New Valley governorate that contribute to the production process and land reclamation, confirming that the Egyptian government is keen on removing any obstacles that may face Saudi investors wishing to invest in the New Valley.

The Minister of Agriculture presented several ideas and proposals with promising investment opportunities, whether in the field of land reclamation, agricultural manufacturing, or the cultivation of field crops in reclaimed lands relying on modern irrigation systems. He also mentioned the cultivation of crops used in agricultural manufacturing and subsequent export, as these investments offer excellent and fast returns. He also pointed out the possibility of cooperation with the Egypt Future Development Agency in this regard.

The Governor of New Valley stated that the meeting discussed a package of promising investment ideas in the agricultural sector. This included exploring ways to enhance agricultural manufacturing for strategic and field crops produced in the governorate, with an emphasis on applying the latest modern irrigation systems to conserve water. The focus was also on cultivating crops for the food industry aimed at export, given that these investments offer substantial economic returns, as well as the governorate's relative advantages in this field.

Al-Zamlout added that this meeting is an important step towards enhancing Egyptian-Saudi cooperation and confirming the pivotal role of the governorate as a key gateway for promising agricultural investments, achieving sustainable development goals in the future, and supporting the national economy through the optimal exploitation of the agricultural potential of the region.

For his part, Prince Salman bin Mohammed Al Saud expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality, praising the comprehensive developmental leap Egypt is witnessing under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He noted that this has positively impacted the investment climate in Egypt, making it an attractive destination for both Arab and foreign investments. He confirmed his intention to increase his dealings in Egypt, based on his belief in the vast potential of promising areas like the New Valley in the agricultural sector.
