Egypt Achieves Record Wheat Production for 2025
Cairo, April 12, 2025
The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has announced that Egypt has achieved a record wheat production this year, with 3.1 million feddans cultivated and an expected yield of 10 million tons.
The ministry confirmed that comprehensive support was provided to farmers, including more than 20,000 demonstration fields across the country, in addition to weed control measures funded by the ministry. Moreover, over 15 high-yielding and climate-resistant bread wheat varieties and 6 durum wheat varieties were developed to boost productivity.
This achievement reflects the ongoing progress in Egypt’s agricultural sector and strengthens the country’s position in ensuring food security and enhancing agricultural exports.
