Near East and North Africa region falls short of halving hunger by 2015

Most countries in the Near East and North Africa (NENA) achieved their international pledge to reduce the share of their population suffering from hunger, but conflicts and protracted crises in Iraq, Sudan, Syria and Yemen, as well as the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, have made it the only region to have seen its overall prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) increase from the levels of a quarter of a century ago.
